Our Philosophy

The Beauty of the Unhurried Years.

At Little Learners, we believe that early childhood shouldn't be a race. In a world that is constantly rushing, our Academy serves as a calm, coastal sanctuary where children are given the gift of time.

We trade traditional bright plastics and frantic transitions for natural tones and a rhythmic, intentional pace. By prioritising Respect & Relationships, we ensure every child feels "tucked into" a secure connection. It is from this place of safety that true confidence grows, allowing our little learners to become bold catalysts for their own discovery.

The INSPIRE Curriculum

A Foundation That Goes Beyond

While we proudly meet all NSW Educational Standards, our unique I-N-S-P-I-R-E curriculum is designed to elevate the experience of every child. We focus on the whole mind, body and heart to ignite a lifelong spark of curiosity.

Experience how our ‘Everyday Learning is Exceptional’

Academy Studios: Exceptional Discovery Spaces

Where the "Everyday" Becomes Exceptional.

We believe that a child’s environment should be as inspiring as the place they live. Our Academies features dedicated Specialist Studios that offer opportunities rarely found in traditional childcare settings:

  • The Arts & Performing Arts Studio: A space for self-expression, confidence-building, and musical discovery.

  • The Science & Inquiry Lab: Where little scientists test theories, explore the natural world, and innovate.

  • The Community Orchard & Herb Garden: Our "Little Green Thumbs" program connects the kitchen to the soil, teaching children the unhurried joy of sustainability.

  • The Wellness Space: Integrated Yoga and mindfulness sessions to nurture emotional intelligence and physical balance.

Each Little Learners Centre is unique. Specialist studios and outdoor features may vary to reflect the specific needs and landscape of our local community.

Our "Strong Start" Academy

More Than Just School Readiness.

Our preschool program is an elite framework that takes the NSW Government’s School Readiness educational guidelines and elevates them. We don't just teach letters and numbers; we empower children with the "soft skills" of the future: resilience, critical thinking and social collaboration. Through the blend of our specialist studios and our heart-led mentors, your child graduates with the confidence to step into their next big adventure.

As a CCS Approved Service, we are proud to offer eligible families the NSW Government’s Start Strong Fee Relief. This funding is integrated directly into our Academy, providing elite support to ensure every child in our community has access to an exceptional start in life.

Our Commitment to Country & Sustainability

Sustainability is the Heartbeat of Our Day.

At Little Learners, we are deeply committed to protecting our planet and teaching our children to become thoughtful, lifelong custodians of the environment.

We believe that when children develop a meaningful relationship with nature, they naturally learn to respect and care for the world around them. Sustainability at Little Learners isn't a separate program or a "lesson" on a whiteboard, it is an intrinsic part of our everyday culture, our decisions and our unhurried rhythm.

Our Sustainable Pillars:

  • Community, Culture & Connection We acknowledge that First Nations Peoples have cared for this land for thousands of years. We embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our daily life, guided by the concept of "Caring for Country." By actively seeking local knowledge, we enrich our children’s understanding of the deep history of the Mid North Coast.

  • Orchard to Table: Sustainability in Action Our signature Garden to Plate program allows children to experience the full circle of life. From the quiet work of composting to the excitement of harvesting from our Community Orchard, children learn the patience of nature and the joy of seasonal, "zero-mile" nourishment.

  • Pioneering for the Future Our commitment to the planet is reflected in our Academy’s footprint. From our rooftop solar panels to our water conservation practices and the conscious choice of natural, reclaimed materials in our studios, we lead by example so our children can inherit a thriving world.

FAQs

  • The INSPIRE Curriculum is our signature, holistic framework designed to elevate the early years. While it fully meets the NSW Early Years Learning Framework, it goes further by integrating six core pillars—from Innovation & Inquiry to Respect & Relationships. It is designed to nurture the whole child: their mind, their body, and their heart.

  • An Academy signifies a higher standard of intentionality. At Little Learners, this means providing specialist discovery studios (such as Art, Music, and Science), a dedicated preschool framework, and elite educators who are trained to facilitate deep, inquiry-based learning rather than just supervised pla

  • It means we value the quality of an experience over the quantity of activities. We avoid frantic transitions and loud, cluttered environments. Instead, we allow children the time to finish a painting, deep-dive into a scientific question, or spend an extra ten minutes in the orchard if that’s where their curiosity leads them.

  • Our studios are dedicated spaces where children can innovate and problem-solve using professional-grade tools and natural materials. Depending on your Academy's specific layout, children might spend time in the Arts & Performing Arts Studio, a Science Lab, or our Wellness Space, guided by mentors who help them master new skills.

  • Inclusion is a core pillar of INSPIRE. We celebrate individuality and work closely with families and specialists to ensure our environment is accessible and supportive for every child. Our unhurried pace is particularly beneficial for children who thrive in calm, predictable, and heart-led spaces.

  • Absolutely. We believe in transparent, elite support for our families, which is why we utilise the OWNA all-in-one parent app. Through this digital platform, you will receive real-time photos and updates of your child’s discoveries. From daily nutritional and sleep updates, potty movements to deep-dives into their creative projects and activities.

  • We don't treat Indigenous perspectives as a once-a-year event. We embed them into our rhythm through saying “Acknowledgement to Country”, storytelling  and practicing sustainability in our gardens. We teach children to respect the land as the First Nations peoples have done for thousands of years.

  • This is our elite school-readiness program for children in the two years before they head to primary school. It combines academic foundations (literacy and numeracy) with "soft skills" like emotional resilience and social collaboration, ensuring they graduate as confident coastal explorers.

  • Yes, Little Learners is a fully approved provider. Eligible families will be able to claim the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to help reduce out-of-pocket costs.

  • Our "Little Green Thumbs" program teaches children about biology, chemistry and responsibility. By watching a seedling grow into an ingredient for their lunch, they develop a deep connection to the environment and a lifelong appreciation for nourishing, seasonal food.

"At Little Learners, our mission is to redefine early education by blending world-class specialist spaces with a warm, inclusive community. By providing dedicated environments for science, performing arts, wellness and discovery, we aim to inspire a lifelong love of learning and leave a lasting, positive imprint on the next generation of thinkers, creators, and leaders."

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land, the Worimi People, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples here today.
