A Warm Welcome From Our Family

Your Guide to Little Learners

Lightening the Load, Together.

We understand that choosing an early learning home for your child is a massive milestone. It’s filled with excitement, but it’s completely normal to feel a little knot in your stomach, too. We know, because we’re a family-owned and run Academy, and we’ve been in those exact same shoes.

At Little Learners, we don’t just look at this as an enrolment; we look at it as welcoming you into our village. From your very first step through our doors, our goal is to make sure you and your little one feel completely known and entirely safe.

You’re not just joining a centre; you’re joining a family.

Our Gentle Step-by-Step Orientation

We don't believe in rushing big moments. A beautiful transition takes time, which is why we place so much heart into a meaningful orientation process before your child’s very first official day. We walk this path with you, completely at your pace.

Here is how we get ready together:

  • Come on in! Walk through our spacious, light-filled classrooms, explore our cosy nurseries and take a stroll through our specialist Performing Arts studio and beautiful outdoor orchard.

  • We highly encourage you to bring your little one along for the tour. Watching them naturally gravitate towards our meaningful resources or point at familiar vegetables or fruit is the most beautiful way to start their journey.

  • After your tour, we’ll reach out to hear your feedback and check how you’re feeling. If you decide we’re the perfect fit for your family, you won’t just be handed a form and left to figure it out. Your family will be provided with a personalised enrolments specialist who will personally step in to guide you through a completely tailored, digital onboarding experience. The whole process is online, paper-free and stress-free! From untangling Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to answering your finance questions and taking you through your welcome pack, we handle the heavy lifting together, answering every single question along the way.

  • Before their official start date, we invite you both to come along for a few casual "Play & Connect" sessions. It’s a wonderful, pressure-free way for your child to get used to the sights, smells, and smiling faces of our educators. We’ll gather Important info about your child’s interests (eg “he loves dinosaurs”) so that on their very first week we ensure we engage them with the activities they already know and love.

  • To make things official, we’ll hand over a beautifully curated Parent Handbook, hats, wet pack and other goodies, filled with all the little details to help you prepare for Day One.

Stay Connected, Wherever You Are: The OWNA App

We know that even when you’re at work or running errands, a piece of your heart is still in our centre. To keep you close throughout the day, we use OWNA - an app that offers a secure, beautiful window into your child’s world.

With a quick tap on your phone, you can:

  • See photos and stories of the incredible discoveries your child is making.

  • Check in on what delicious, nutritious meals they’ve enjoyed from our Garden to Plate programme.

  • Monitor their sleep and rest patterns so you know exactly how their routine is tracking.

  • Message your child's educators directly for quick updates and open, honest communication.

This transparent connection isn't just about peace of mind (though it brings a lot of that!); it’s about building a true partnership between your home and our Academy to support your child's unique growth.

Our Lived Commitment to Child Safety

At Little Learners, child safety isn’t a checklist or a policy tucked away in a binder. It is the absolute foundation of everything we do. We believe that for a child to innovate, explore and let their imagination run wild, they must first feel completely safe, protected and secure.

The NSW Government has recently rolled out some of the most progressive early childhood safety reforms in our state’s history. Rather than just meeting the baseline, our team has leaned into these updates with open arms, proactively embedding them into the daily rhythm of our Academy.

Here is exactly how we are leading the way in child protection and putting your little one first:

  • Every single decision made at our Academy - from how we design our obstacle courses to how we handle a minor playground scratch is guided by one golden rule: the safety, rights and best interests of your child come before everything else. We log, track and review every daily decision to ensure that your child’s emotional and physical wellbeing remains the absolute priority.

  • We don't just hire incredible educators; we hire people of absolute integrity. In line with the latest reforms, our recruitment and onboarding practices are incredibly rigorous. We use specialised child-safe screening, detailed referee checks and a continuous checking capability for Working With Children Checks (WWCC).

Every face your child sees at our Academy has been meticulously vetted and chosen for both their elite skills and their nurturing hearts.

  • We ensure that our team is ahead of the curve. Every single staff member, volunteer and leader at Little Learners undergoes mandatory, nation-leading child protection training. Our educators are deeply fluent in child protection law, fully understand their responsibilities as mandatory reporters, and are trained to spot and respond to the subtlest changes in a child’s wellbeing.

  • A truly safe space is a transparent one. We have established robust whistleblower and protected disclosure policies. This ensures that our staff, families, and community feel entirely empowered and safe to speak up if anything ever feels out of place. By removing the fear of raising concerns, we create an open, honest ecosystem where safety thrives in the light.

  • We love capturing the magic of your child's day on our OWNA app, but we protect their digital footprint fiercely. We enforce strict limits on personal devices in our learning spaces, ensuring that only service-issued, secure technology is used to document your child’s learning journey. Your child’s data and privacy are fully locked down.

  • We track the details so you don't have to worry. Our system meticulously logs exactly which educators are in which rooms at every minute of the day. Furthermore, all incident, injury, trauma, and illness records require immediate, dual-signature verification. You will always have an ultra-transparent, crystal-clear view of your child’s day.

A Note to Our Families

We want you to drop your little one off every morning with a lighter heart, knowing that they are stepping into a sanctuary built on the highest standards of safety and care.

We don't just protect our little locals, we advocate for them.

FAQs

Still Have Questions? Let’s Clear the Air…

We know the world of early childhood education can sometimes feel like it’s full of secret acronyms, confusing rules, and heavy paperwork. It’s a lot to take in!

We are here to completely demystify the journey and cut through the jargon for you. Think of this as your cheat sheet for the practical stuff - simple, straightforward answers to the things parents ask us most.

  • In short, it’s financial assistance from the Australian Government to help cover the cost of childcare. It reduces your fees out-of-pocket, paid directly to us, so you only have to pay the gap.

How much subsidy you get depends on your family’s combined income, the age of your child, and the hours of "activity" (like working, studying, or volunteering) you do each fortnight.

  • You can apply online through your myGov account linked to Centrelink. It’s best to do this as early as possible even before your orientation sessions because it can take Centrelink a few weeks to assess and approve your claim.

Once it's approved, you just share your CRNs (Customer Reference Numbers) with us, and we’ll hook it up to our system.

  • Yes, absolutely! The Australian Government offers a Higher Child Care Subsidy precisely to help ease the financial pressure on families with multiple young children in care at the same time.

If you have more than one child aged 5 or under in approved child care, you may be eligible to receive a higher subsidy rate of up to an additional 30% (capped at a maximum of 95%) for your second child and any subsequent younger children. We can explain more by phone or when you visit.

  • The Australian Government, the 3-Day Guarantee makes early education much more accessible and inclusive for local families.

Under this policy, the old, rigid "Activity Test" has been removed for baseline care.

This means that all CCS-eligible families are automatically guaranteed at least 72 hours of subsidised child care per fortnight (which is equivalent to 3 days per week), completely regardless of your work, study, or volunteering hours.

If you are a family caring for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander child, or if you complete more than 48 hours of recognised participation per fortnight, your entitlement automatically increases to 100 hours of subsidised care per fortnight.

(Please note: While the government guarantees the funding hours, securing actual days still depends on our Academy's room availability, and standard income-based gap fees still apply!)

  • Absolutely. Every family’s rhythm is unique, so we offer flexible full-time and part-time enrolment options to fit perfectly into your work and home life. Whether you need a couple of days a week or the full five, we can tailor a schedule that supports your family.

  • It’s beautifully simple. If you decide we’re the perfect fit for your family, you won’t just be handed a form and left to figure it out.

Our Enrolments Specialist will personally step in to guide you through a completely tailored, digital onboarding experience.

The whole process is online, paper-free and stress-free! From untangling the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to answering your finance questions and taking you through your welcome pack, we handle the heavy lifting together, answering every single question along the way.

  • We believe in absolute transparency - no hidden surprises here! Your fees are fully inclusive of our premium, elite care.

This covers all your child's daily nutritional meals from our Garden to Plate programme, nappies, wipes, sun cream, bedding, access to our OWNA app, and all of our specialist incursions and studio activities.

All you need to pack is a change of clothes and a drink bottle!

  • Yes, we do! We completely understand that sometimes life throws a curveball. Whether it’s a last-minute meeting, unexpected travel for work, or a sudden change of plans, there are times you might need occasional or backup childcare at short notice. If we have a vacancy in the room that day, we are more than happy to welcome your little one for a casual stay.

  • Adding or changing days to your regular enrolment can be done at any time throughout the year, provided we have space available in your child's room.

You don’t need to wait until a new term or the start of the  year - just reach out to us as soon as your schedule changes, and we’ll check the calendar for you.

  • We sure do. We are incredibly proud to deliver a registered preschool curriculum that qualifies for the NSW Government's Start Strong funding guidelines. This initiative provides long day care preschool fee relief for eligible 3 to 5-year-old children, making our elite, pioneering school-readiness programme even more accessible for your family.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land, the Worimi People, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples here today.
